Product recalls for august 13, 2015

At Wyatt Law Firm we take consumer safety very seriously. We believe that customers should not have to worry about physical injuries resulting from products that are supposed to be tested and safe. Like the Consumer Product Safety Commission, we feel that our clients should be aware of dangerous products that are being recalled.

On August 13, 2015, the CPSC issued the following products that have been recalled:

  • Ambient Weather's Weather Radio
  • American SportWorks' Four-Wheel Off-Road Utility Vehicles
  • J.M. Renovated Mattresses

RISK OF FIRE HAZARD WITH AMBIENT WEATHER'S WEATHER RADIOS

The weather radios produced by Ambient Weather have been recalled because of potential fire hazards that can ensue due to overheated AC power adapters. Around 12,500 units of the little black and red radio have been sold. There have been three reported incidents where the back batteries have either caught fire or emitted smoke.

Product Details:

POTENTIAL RISK OF INJURY WITH AMERICAN SPORTWORKS' OFF-ROAD VEHICLES

It has been reported that the throttle can fail to idle, which will lead the driver to lose control. No injuries have been called in yet. There have been about 3,500 units that have been sold.

The different models of the product are:

  • LandMaster 400

FEDERAL OPEN FLAME STANDARD NOT MET BY J.M. MATTRESSES

J.M. Mattresses is asking customers to return their renovated mattresses because they violate the federal flammability standard. The company will pick up the mattresses from people who bought them and have them returned to J.M. facilities, free of charge. There are 240 units that have been sold. As of yet, there have been no injuries or incidents reported.

  • Sold at independent mattress stores in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin
  • Sold between September 2014 and December 2014
