The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announcement notes, "The siphon can become blocked, leading to a delayed ignition that can damage the boiler's exhaust system, creating a carbon monoxide hazard." Bosch offers free repairs for customers responding to the recall. So far, no injuries or deaths have been reported. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas produced by burning fuel. Gas-powered boilers emit some carbon monoxide, though they can emit dangerous amounts if the combustion system is compromised or incorrectly calibrated. CO poisoning causes the most poisoning cases in the U.S. each year, and its undetectable chemical profile often means that people are exposed to dangerous amounts before they can escape. Severe CO poisoning starves the brain and body of oxygen, causing permanent debilitation or death. The Wyatt Law Firm applauds manufacturers that actively retract their defective products, though we know that there are many defective products on the market that do not get recalled until they have already hurt or killed someone. Whether they are improperly formed car tires, fire-hazard fans, explosive pressure cookers, or unstable ladders, defective products can change or end a person's life when they fail. Sadly, we also know from practicing personal injury law for over 25 years that some companies knowingly and willingly sell defective products, then deny it when someone gets hurt. How are average consumers supposed to carry on when they receive a life-changing injury caused by someone else? Can they do anything? Absolutely: they can obtain representation from veteran legal professionals who care and who have an award-winning track record of obtaining settlements from major companies. The attorneys at Wyatt Law Firm cover personal injury and negligence lawsuits from car accidents to defective products to carbon monoxide poisoning to oilfield accidents. We give a voice to people suffering the consequences of someone else's actions. Moreover, we've been doing it successfully for decades with our team of experienced trial lawyers, having won hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements for our clients.
