Jefferson, TX – John Brooks Loses Life in Motorcycle Crash on FM 248

Jefferson, TX (November 20, 2021) – A man has lost his life following a motor vehicle accident in Jefferson on Tuesday afternoon. At around 2:45 p.m., on November 16, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Farm to Market Road 248.

Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on Farm to Market Road 248. For unknown reasons, the driver of a 1998 Dodge Ram failed to yield the right of way to the motorcycle while making a left turn. As a result, the two vehicles collided.

The motorcyclist, 58-year-old John Brooks, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital for further care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
