Fatal Car Accidents in Texas
Motor vehicle accidents in the state of Texas take the lives of more than 4400 people every year. In 2021, we saw a record number of fatal accidents take place in our state. Although there are several laws in place to protect our drivers, we continue to see innocent people lose their lives in accidents due to the negligence of others. Some of the most common causes of crashes in our state include:
- drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol while operating the vehicle
- drivers who are distracted by their cell phones, radios, and other people inside their cars
- drivers who are speeding or traveling too fast for road conditions
- drivers who run red lights and pass stop signs and intersections
When motorists engage in reckless actions operating their vehicles, they place the lives of others sharing the road at risk. Unfortunately, a significant number of people end up suffering fatal injuries due to these and other acts of negligence. If your loved one has lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident, you may have legal options available to help you move forward.
