Arlington, TX (August 26, 2022) – One woman was fatally injured following a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday evening in the Arlington area. At around 11 p.m., on August 24, the Arlington Police Department responded to a crash that occurred on South Collins Street.
Preliminary investigations provided by the Arlington police show that a female was riding a bicycle in the 1100 block of South Collins Street during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, a vehicle traveled through the area, while driving Southwest on South Collins Street, and struck the woman near Hensley Street.
The bicyclist was fatally injured due to the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding officers.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid to the victim. Instead, the driver fled to the scene of the accident.
The Arlington Police Department is investigating the accident at this time.
