Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Fatal pedestrian crashes take the lives of hundreds of people annually in our state. In many cases, innocent people have to pay overwhelming consequences due to negligent drivers. Every day, we see innocent pedestrians die due to drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding, were engaging in other reckless action that directly harms others.
If your loved one has died as a result of a driver’s reckless and careless actions, your family may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the person who is responsible. This type of claim can help your family seek financial compensation to cover some of the costs and the losses that you face.
This can include recovering compensation for:
- Funeral arrangements: It is crucial that your family has the financial resources available to pay your final respects to your loved one. A wrongful death claim can help you seek compensation for this damage.
- Lost earnings and benefits: If your loved one was the primary breadwinner, you can recover financial compensation to cover the loss of income, inheritance, and benefits.
- Loss of consortium: This can include recovering compensation for loss of companionship, parental guidance, or friendship.
- Loss of services: This can include day care services, home repair services, and other services that your loved one provided for the home.
It is important that you seek legal guidance as soon as possible to ensure you have the strongest case to prove your damages were caused by the defendant and prevail.
