Car Accidents in Texas

Austin, TX – Two Injured in Auto Accident on Adelphi LaneCar accidents occur every day in Texas that leave countless people injured. Quite often, these crashes are a result of driver error and negligence. Speeding, intoxication, and distractions are just some of the main causes of crashes that we see in our state every day. Many people who are involved in accidents are left with serious injuries.

Common injuries reported in traffic crashes across our state include:

  • Debilitating spinal cord injuries that lead to paralysis.
  • Internal organ injuries that lead to life-threatening conditions.
  • Severe compound fractures that require casting.
  • Traumatic brain injuries that result in mood problems and memory issues.

Unfortunately, victims who suffer these and other significant injuries in car crashes often require extensive medical treatment. If you have suffered injuries due to a car crash in our state, you may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit. This legal claim can help you seek compensation for your damages.

It is important to understand that Texas uses the modified comparative negligence doctrine when it comes to determining how much money a victim can recover. This doctrine states that the amount of compensation a person can recover for their damages may be reduced in the amount of fault that they share for the accident. Given the fact that many insurance companies will often try to shift the blame onto innocent victims, it is important that you seek help from a car accident lawyer in Austin as soon as possible to protect your legal rights and to ensure you are able to maximize the compensation you recover.
