Buna, TX (March 9, 2023) – On Wednesday, March 8, two people were hurt after a crash in the Buna area.
The accident took place on FM1004 near Antioch Cemetary at around 9:30 a.m. It was reported that a 70-year-old Silsbee man was driving a Ford pickup truck towing a lowboy trailer. The man had reportedly stopped the truck and was in the trailer unloading trash cans.
A 79-year-old Buna man driving a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck sideswiped the trailer and Ford truck. The impact caused the trailer to unlatch and go into oncoming traffic, where it hit a Dodge passenger car driven by a 19-year-old Buna resident.
The Silsbee man and the driver of the Dodge were hospitalized for treatment.
An ongoing investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
