Car Accidents in Texas
Crashes in Texas cause tens of thousands of injuries annually. There are many cases where people are hospitalized with severe injuries that demand medical care. We see countless people left with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and even severe compound fractures following their accidents.
Unfortunately, many accidents are a result of drivers who engage in negligence. Some of the leading causes of auto collisions across our state include:
Distracted driving: Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of car crashes in Texas. With so many people using cell phones and other devices while behind the wheel, it’s no wonder that distracted driving is such a problem.
Drunk driving: Drunk driving is another leading cause of car crashes in Texas. Driving while under the influence can make it difficult to maintain control of the vehicle in order to avoid a collision.
Speeding: Speed is a factor in many car crashes, particularly in Texas, where highways are often crowded and fast-paced. Traveling above the speed limit in crowded areas, around curved roadways, and in construction zones can be lethal.
Weather conditions: Bad weather can make driving conditions more difficult and lead to more accidents. Here in Texas, we see many accidents caused by ice, heavy rain, and even high wind conditions.

If your car was damaged, you may be able to recover the cost of repairs or the value of your car if it was totaled.
If the other driver was grossly negligent in the accident, you may also be able to recover compensation for punitive damages.
