Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Pedestrian crashes took the lives of more than 800 people and 2021. Now in 2022, we continue to see innocent people die as a result of these accidents. Many accidents happen because of common causes. Speeding, failing to yield, impairment, distractions, and disregarding traffic control devices are all common causes of car accidents in Texas.
Speeding is the most common cause of car accidents in Texas. A large percentage of pedestrian accidents in Texas are caused by speeding. When you’re driving, it’s important to be aware of the speed limit and to avoid driving above the speed limit. If you’re caught driving too fast, you could face criminal charges and a fine.
Failing to yield is another common cause of pedestrian accidents. When you’re driving, it’s important to give the right of way to pedestrians and to stop at stop signs and red lights. If someone else doesn’t stop, it can lead to severe injury or a fatal collision
Impairment is another common cause of pedestrian crashes here in our state. If you are impaired by drugs or alcohol, you may not be able to drive safely.
Distractions are also a leading cause of crashes in our state. When you are driving, it is important to be focused on the road ahead. Don’t text or talk on the phone or talk to other people while operating your vehicle.
