Fatal Car Accidents in Texas
Fatal crashes are the cause of thousands of deaths in Texas each year. Regrettably, there are several types of collisions that are commonly reported in our state. One of the most common and preventable types of accidents is the rear-end accident. There are several reasons why these accidents continue to take place so frequently.
One of the most common is following too closely or tailgating. Traveling too close to the vehicle ahead can prevent a person from being able to stop in time to avoid a collision. Another common cause of fatal rear-end accidents is distractions. When drivers are distracted while operating their vehicles, they may not see it vehicle ahead of them slowing down or coming to a stop. Additionally, we see many fatal accidents take place as a result of impairment.
When victims lose their lives as a result of fatal collisions, families are able to file wrongful death claims against the drivers who are responsible. A wrongful death claim can help your family recover financial compensation for various damages that you have. These can include:
- Lost earning capacity
- Medical bills
- Mental anguish
- Pain and suffering
- Funeral costs
- Loss of services
- Lost Income
- Loss of companionship
- Burial costs
