Car Accidents in Texas

Harris County, TX – Deputy & Civilian Hurt in Car Crash on Kuykendahl RdIn Texas, tens of thousands of people are left with injuries as a result of car crashes that take place in the state. Unfortunately, these accidents often have a devastating impact on the lives of those involved. We see many people left with spinal cord injuries that result in paralysis, traumatic brain injuries that result in memory loss, and even internal organ injuries that can be life-threatening.

Suffering from any type of serious injury following a car crash can have an overwhelming impact on the victim’s life. If you have been hurt as a result of a car crash, you may have legal options that you can take. One of the best things you can do following your accident is to file a personal injury claim against the responsible party. It is important that you reach out to a car accident lawyer right away to ensure you have the best chance of getting justice. It is important to understand that Texas follows the comparative negligence law when it comes to pursuing compensation following a car crash.

The comparative negligence rule in Texas allows an injured person to recover compensation from another negligent party, even if the injured person is partially at fault for the accident. For example, if you are 50% at fault for causing a car accident, you can still recover 50% of the damages from the other driver. However, if you are more than 50% at fault, you cannot recover any damages from the other driver.

If you have been involved in a car accident and think that the other driver may be at fault, it is important to speak with a Harris County car accident attorney who can help investigate the accident and gather evidence to support your claim.
