Fatal Car Accidents in Texas
Every year, traffic accidents take the lives of innocent people. Unfortunately, thousands of people across the state of Texas lose their lives due to fatal traffic accidents. Many of these accidents are preventable. When it comes to head-on collisions, there are various factors that lead to these accidents taking place so frequently. Some of the leading factors include:
- Speeding: Excessive speeds are one of the most frequent factors that contribute to head-on collisions in our state. When drivers are traveling too fast for road conditions or weather, they not may be unable to react in time to avoid colliding with the second vehicle.
- Driver impairment: Being under the influence of intoxicants can impair a driver’s ability to operate their vehicle in a safe manner. Driving while impaired can cause drivers to struggle to maintain one lane and may lead to them having poor reaction times.
- Distracted driving: Anything that takes a driver’s attention away from the road can be incredibly dangerous. Unfortunately, we see many accidents occur in Texas as a result of drivers who are using their cell phones to talk or text, eating, or talking to other people in the vehicle.
- Driver fatigue: Driving while tired can be just as dangerous as driving while impaired. Drowsy drivers might be unable to make sound decisions and may have a difficult time staying awake while behind the wheel.
Unfortunately, many accidents that take the lives of innocent people in our state are preventable. However, the impacts are far-reaching.
