Houston, TX (October 3, 2021) – An 8-year-old child was killed in a Houston car accident on Friday, October 1st. The crash occurred around 10:35 p.m. in the 1800 block of St. Joseph Parkway.
According to reports from the Houston Police Department, a black Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound on Chartres Street when the driver ran a red light and entered the intersection. While in the intersection, the Challenger collided with a silver Honda Civic. There were three passengers inside the Civic at the time of the accident. The 8-year-old child sustained serious injuries, including a skull fracture. The child was taken to a hospital where he passed away on Sunday. The other two passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Challenger was not injured.
No one involved in the accident has been identified at this time. The driver of the Challenger remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. There is no word on any potential charges.
