Houston, TX (September 22, 2022) – An officer with the Houston Police Department and a second victim were both injured following a vehicle collision in the Houston area on Tuesday evening. At around 8:30 p.m., on September 20, the Austin Police Department responded to a vehicle collision that occurred on Cavalcade Street.

APD reports indicate that a police officer was responding to a foot chase in the area of Cavalcade Street and Irvington Boulevard. As the officer passed through the intersection, his vehicle was struck by a second vehicle. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to flip over.

The officer and the driver of the second vehicle were both injured. Both victims were transported to local hospitals for medical care.

The Police Department is investigating the crash at this time.
