Houston, TX – Woman Fatally Injured in Crash on Veterans Memorial Dr near Fallbrook Dr

Houston, TX (August 7, 2022) – A crash reported in Harris County claimed one woman’s life early Friday morning. At around 2:30 a.m., on August 5, the Houston Police Department responded to a crash that was reported on Veterans Memorial Drive.

Reports provided by area law enforcement indicate that an adult female was walking southbound on Veterans Memorial Drive. At the same time, a vehicle was traveling on the roadway. As the vehicle and the woman passed through the area of Fallbrook Drive, the vehicle struck the woman. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene without stopping.

The female pedestrians suffered severe injuries due to the motor vehicle accident. Area law enforcement arrived at the scene and immediately closed off a portion of the roadway. Despite the best efforts of emergency medical personnel, the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of her injuries.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
