Lewisville, TX (July 2, 2022) – One man has lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident reported early Friday morning in the Lewisville area. At around 4:45 a.m., on July 1, emergency crews were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 35 East.
Reports provided by authorities show that a man was walking near the southbound side of the interstate during the early morning hours. For unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle passing through the area.
The driver remained at the scene of the accident and spoke with law enforcement.
The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries due to the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The police and firefighters closed off the southbound lanes of the intersection just south of Main Street as they worked to clear the scene and investigate.
Investigations surrounding the accident are ongoing. No other injuries were reported.
