Lufkin, TX (February 1, 2022) – Several people were transported to area hospitals following a major motor vehicle accident in the Lufkin area on Monday morning.
On January 31, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of an accident on South Loop 287.
Reports show that a semi-truck and four other vehicles collided on South Loop 287 in the area near John Reddit Drive. The incident caused severe delays in traffic as it prompted the closure of the northbound lanes as crews worked to clear the scene.
Seven people were injured in this accident and transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
