Pampa, TX (February 14, 2023) – The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that a teenager was killed in a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Grey County on Sunday afternoon.
At around 1:15 p.m. on February 12, DPS was notified that they were needed at the scene of a crash on County Road D.
Crash reports indicate that a 2016 Nissan Titan pickup truck was traveling down the roadway when it became involved in a collision. The vehicle rolled over multiple times on a dirt road just two miles west of Pampa. The vehicle was occupied by the driver, a 16-year-old female, and four passengers, ages 11, 12, 16, and 17.
A 17-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital in Amarillo, where he later passed away from his injuries.
The 16-year-old driver and an 11-year-old male passenger were both transported to a hospital in Pampa for the treatment of injuries. Two other victims, a 12-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were airlifted to a hospital in Amarillo for the treatment of serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
