Tyler, TX (August 27, 2022) – A vehicle collision took place in the Tyler area that claimed one person’s life. At around 5:45 a.m., on August 26, the Tyler Police Department responded to a crash that occurred on South Broadway Avenue.
Preliminary investigations provided by the police show that a pedestrian was walking near the intersection of South Broadway Avenue and South Town Drive, near Papacita’s, when they were struck by a passing vehicle.
The pedestrian was fatally injured as a result of the motor vehicle accident. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The police department and firefighters closed off all of the northbound lanes of South Broadway Avenue as they worked to clear the scene and investigate. Investigations are currently underway.
