Van Zandt County, TX (January 26, 2023) – A traffic accident was reported in Van Zandt County that claimed one person’s life. At around 6:50 p.m., on January 21, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a traffic accident on Texas State Highway 243.
According to reports provided by DPS, a 42-year-old woman was driving a car north on County Road 2501. As she proceeded to make an eastbound turn onto Texas State Highway 243, her vehicle was struck by a white pickup truck.
The female driver incurred fatal injuries as a result of the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A passenger in the woman’s vehicle was transported to an area hospital for emergency care.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 47-year-old man, was uninjured.
At this time the Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the accident.
