San Antonio, TX (October 12, 2021) – One firefighter was hospitalized with injuries following a fire in San Antonio on Sunday evening, October 10.
At around 7:30 p.m., a fire broke out inside a tire shop located in the 400 block of Zarzamora Street. The fire quickly spread to a vacant convenience store and a residence used as an office next door.
Authorities rushed to the scene to battle the blaze as it poured out of the three buildings.
One firefighter who was working at the scene sustained injuries after embers flew into their eyes. The victim was transported to University Hospital for care.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and declare the incident under control.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
