Abilene, TX (July 6, 2022) – One person has lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Tuesday morning just south of Abilene. At around 8:30 a.m., on July 5, the Texas Department of Public Safety was dispatched to the scene of a crash that occurred on Highway 277.
Reports provided by the Department of Public Safety show that a white SUV was traveling northbound on Highway 277 when it collided with a dark-colored vehicle on the roadway. The impact of the crash caused the dark-colored vehicle to flip over onto its roof.
One person involved in the accident suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the white SUV was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by firefighters. The victim was then transported to a local hospital for emergency medical care.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the crash.
