Andrews, TX – Nine People Die in Crash in Andrews County

Andrews, TX (March 17, 2022) – Several people have lost their lives as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Andrews County on Tuesday evening, March 15.

According to reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a head-on collision between a van, carrying members of the University of the Southwest men’s and women’s golf teams, and a Dodge pickup truck occurred on a two-lane road in Andrews County, approximately nine miles outside of Andrews.

Two people involved in the accident, 19-year-old Dayton Price and 20-year-old Hayden Underhill, were both transported by helicopter to University Medical Center in Lubbock for care.

Several other victims sustained fatal injuries in the accidents. These victims were identified as a 13-year-old male, 26-year-old Tyler James, 19-year-old Mauricio Sanchez, 19-year-old Travis Garcia, 22-year-old Jackson Zinn, 21-year-old Karissa Raines, 19-year-old Laci Stone, 18-year-old Tiago Sousa, and 38-year-old Henrich Siemans.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
