Austin, TX (January 24, 2022) – A pedestrian accident reported in the Austin area has taken one man’s life. At around 1:50 a.m., on January 23, emergency crews were requested on-site at a crash on Research Boulevard.

Reports from authorities show that a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while walking in the area between the 7800 block and the 8200 block of Research Boulevard. The incident caused delays near Lamar Boulevard as crews worked to clear the scene.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
