Austin, TX – Man On Scooter Loses Life in Crash on E Seventh St

Austin, TX (April 29, 2022) – A man has lost his life after being struck by a drunken driver in Austin early Friday morning, April 29. At around 2:30 a.m., the Austin Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a crash on East Seventh Street.

Reports provided by authorities show that a man was riding a scooter on East Seventh Street when he was struck by a vehicle.

The man suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Emergency crews closed off East Seventh Street between Allen Street and Springdale Lane for an extended period.

The driver was taken into custody on a DWI charge.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
