Austin, TX (December 13, 2021) – An auto accident reported in Austin claimed the lives of two construction workers on Friday morning, December 10. At around 9:30 a.m., authorities were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 35.
Reports from authorities show that two contractors with the Texas Department of Transportation were working on the side of southbound Interstate 35 on the service road while installing road signs. For unknown reasons, a northbound 2015 Porsche struck both workers.
The two workers suffered severe injuries in the accident. Authorities arrived at the scene and pronounced the victims, who were both men in their 30s, deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated from their vehicle. The driver was transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center for the treatment of injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
