Austin, TX (March 1, 2023) – On Tuesday evening, February 28, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a car in the Austin area. 

The deadly accident was reported at the 9500 block of Lamar Boulevard near Rutland Drive at around 8:20 p.m. Emergency responders were rushed to the scene. The victim sustained fatal injuries and was later pronounced dead at the scene. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and plan for delays. 

The identity of the deceased party has not been released at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is in progress.
