Big Spring, TX (November 22, 2021) – A bus accident reported on Friday evening outside of Fort Worth claimed the lives of three people, according to reports. On November 19, the Texas Department of Public Safety was notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 20.
Reports from authorities show that an Andrews High School bus was traveling to a football game with 25 students on board. For unknown reasons, a pickup truck traveling down the roadway collided head-on with the bus.
The impact of the crash caused the truck to burst into flames.
The driver of the pickup truck sustained fatal injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. One adult on the school bus was declared deceased on the scene. A third adult victim was airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock where they later succumbed to their injuries.
Two students were airlifted to University Medical Center in Lubbock with critical injuries. Several other students were transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for care.
The three victims who lost their lives in this accident have been identified as 59-year-old Nathan Haile of Midland, 69-year-old Marc Boswell of Andrews, and 53-year-old Darin Johns of Andrews.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
