Bridge City, TX (March 28, 2022) – A young child has lost her life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Bridge City on Friday afternoon. On March 25, the police in Bridge City were called to provide assistance at the scene of a crash on the Rainbow Bridge.
Reports from authorities show that a 2005 Ford truck was disabled on the left side of Texas State Highway 87 at the Rainbow Bridge. A 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck’s driver spotted the vehicle and pulled up behind it on the side of the road.
The driver of the Chevrolet turned on their emergency flashers and put cones in the roadway as they attempted to provide assistance to the owner of the Ford. At the same time, a 2015 Dodge passenger vehicle traveled on the roadway rear-ended the Chevrolet. The impact of the crash caused the Dodge to strike a guardrail.
Several people involved in the accident were injured. EMS transported 40-year-old Christopher Parley and 29-year-old Nicholas Ryman to area hospitals for medical care. Two other victims, 39-year-old Angela Deleon, and her 4-year-old daughter were transported to St Elizabeth Hospital.
Authorities confirmed that the young child died from her injuries. Deleon remains in critical condition.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
