Burleson, TX (March 8, 2022) – Two people have lost their lives as a result of a traffic wreck in Burleson County on Friday, March 4. At around 6:20 p.m., authorities were requested on-site at a traffic-related incident on Texas State Highway 36.
Reports from the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a 2016 Ford sedan was traveling north on Texas State Highway 36 when it collided head-on with a 2013 Hyundai sedan.
The driver of the Hyundai, 29-year-old Roykeisha Burnette, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, 29-year-old Michael Piper, was also pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of his injuries.
A passenger in the Hyundai was ejected from the vehicle. The victim suffered critical injuries and was rush3ed to St Joseph Health Regional Hospital for emergency medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
