Cactus, TX (December 25, 2021) – One man has lost his life following a two-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Moore County. At around 7:15 a.m., on December 22, calls for assistance came in surrounding an auto accident on US Highway 287.
Reports from local authorities show that 34-year-old Carlos Garcia was driving a 2000 Freightliner while towing a semi-trailer north on US Highway 287. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a 1995 Chevrolet S10, which was driven by 48-year-old Jose Mendoza.
Mendoza suffered fatal injuries in the accident and died at the scene.
Two passengers in the Chevrolet, identified as 63-year-old Sebastian Sierra and 28-year-old Pablo Gutierrez, were transported to Amarillo Northwest Texas Hospital for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
