Claude, TX (March 21, 2022) – An auto accident reported in Armstrong County has claimed one man’s life. At around 1:40 a.m., on March 20, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of an auto accident on US Highway 287.
Reports provided by DPS indicate that 30-year-old Tyler Ebbit was driving a 2020 Freightliner truck while towing a semi-trailer on US Highway 287. As he attempted to exit the roadway for the eastbound side rest area, the vehicle collided with a 2022 Chrysler 300.
The impact of the crash caused the Chrysler to overturn. The driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Coy Crowder, was ejected from the vehicle.
Crowder sustained fatal injuries in the crash. He was declared deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
