Dallas, TX (April 28, 2022) – One person was fatally injured in an auto accident in Dallas early Saturday morning, April 23. At around 3:30 a.m., the Dallas Police Department and firefighters were dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 35.
Reports surrounding the accident show that an SUV and a sedan were both exiting southbound Interstate 35 East. For unknown reasons, the driver of the sedan cut in front of the SUV in the left lane near Walton Walker Boulevard. The sedan then struck the SUV, causing the SUV to strike a metal guardrail head-on. The SUV then burst into flames.
The driver of the SUV was killed as a result of the accident.
The driver of the sedan, identified as a red 2015 Nissan Altima, fled the scene. Authorities later arrested the driver.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
