Ellis County, TX (December 6, 2021) – An automobile accident reported in Ellis County claimed one man’s life early Thursday morning. At around 5:45 a.m., on December 2, the Texas Department of Public Safety was notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 45.
Reports from authorities show that 37-year-old Alvin Le Roy Short was riding a bicycle south on Interstate 45 when he was struck by a vehicle just 0.6 miles south of Alma.
Short was ejected from his bicycle, resulting in severe injuries.
Authorities arrived at the scene to render aid to the injured rider. However, he passed away from his injuries while at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
