Houston, TX – 19-Year-Old Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Martin Luther King Blvd

Houston, TX (April 18, 2022) – A young man lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Harris County on Saturday morning, April 16. At around 11:50 a.m., authorities were dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Reports provided by local authorities show that a 19-year-old man was crossing Martin Luther King Boulevard when a second person. For unknown reasons, a black Chevrolet Cruze struck the teen. The Chevrolet then continued forward and crashed into a light pole. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to catch on fire.

The pedestrian suffered severe injuries in the accident. Emergency crews responded to treat the victim. However, he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

Two people inside the Chevrolet were injured. EMS transported the 20-year-old driver to Ben Taub Hospital for emergency medical treatment. A 2-year-old backseat passenger was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital for evaluation.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
