Houston, TX (July 5, 2022) – A bicyclist lost their life as a result of a motor vehicle accident that took place in the Houston area. At around 1:20 p.m., on July 4, emergency crews were notified that a motor vehicle accident took place on Katy Freeway, West Interstate Highway 10.
Reports provided by the Houston Police Department indicate that a bicyclist was riding in the 10,800 block of Katy Freeway during the afternoon hours. For unknown reasons, the bicyclist was struck by a gray Grand Cherokee as the drivers switched lanes.
The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries as a result of the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old, stopped at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. No other injuries were reported in this accident.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
