Houston, TX (December 27, 2021) – An accident reported on Sunday claimed one man’s life in the Houston area. At around noon on December 26, the police and firefighters in Houston were called to the site of a crash on North Shepherd Drive.
Reports from the police show that a patrol car was traveling north on North Shepherd Drive when it collided with a second vehicle near Thornton Road.
The officer sustained minor injuries in the accident and was transported to a local hospital for care.
The driver of the second vehicle, 77-year-old Charles Payne Senior, suffered fatal injuries in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
