Houston, TX (December 12, 2021) – A plane crash reported in Harris County has claimed the lives of two people, according to reports. At around 8 p.m., on December 8, emergency crews were requested on-site at a crash near Katy Freeway.
Reports from authorities show that a Piper PA-28 Cherokee took off from the West Houston Airport at around 7:50 p.m. While en-route to Pearland, the radar lost the plane signal.
For unknown reasons, the plane crashed in the area of Baker Reservoir off Katy Freeway.
One man was ejected from the plane while a female occupant was located inside the wreckage. Both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities later identified the victims as 20-year-old Apesin Oluwafunmilayo and 23-year-old Solomon Babalola.
At this time, investigations surrounding the cause of the crash are underway.
