Jasper, TX (May 21, 2022) – A motorcycle accident reported in Jasper County on Friday morning has claimed one person’s life. At around 10:30 a.m., on May 20, emergency crews were dispatched to an auto accident that took place on Highway 96.
Reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety indicate that a thirty-one-year-old man was riding a motorcycle on Highway 96 near County Road 482. For unknown reasons, his 2018 Suzuki motorcycle collided with a 2017 Ford pickup truck at the intersection.
The motorcyclists sustained severe injuries in the accident. He was airlifted to St. Elizabeth Hospital for further medical care. Authorities confirmed that the man passed away from his injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the crash.
At this time, the Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the incident.
