Jasper, TX (April 30, 2022) – Authorities were requested on-site at a crash on Thursday that ended in injuries. At around 11:40 a.m., on April 28, emergency crews were dispatched to the site of a crash on Highway 96.
According to reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety, a 1994 Ford pickup truck was traveling south on Highway 96 when it became involved in a crash with a mobile unit just 1.5 miles north of Recreational Road 255. The pickup truck then collided with a Hino truck.
The driver of the Ford, an 88-year-old man from Brookeland, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
DPS is investigating the incident.
