Kilgore, TX (January 10, 2022) – One woman has lost her life following a motor vehicle accident in the Kilgore area on Friday evening, January 7. At around 10:30 p.m., authorities were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on Interstate 20.
Reports from authorities show that 68-year-old Linda Blaney was driving a 2004 Mazda Tribute east on Interstate 20 when she became involved in an accident. Blaney’s vehicle became disabled on the side of the roadway. As a 2021 Kenworth towing a trailer came through the area, it rear-ended Blaney’s vehicle.
The impact of the crash caused the Mazda to catch on fire.
Blaney sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
