Lolita, TX (April 10, 2022) – An auto accident reported in Lolita on Friday morning claimed one man’s life. At around 6:30 a.m., on April 8, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of an auto accident on Farm to Market Road 1593.
Reports from DPS show that a 20-year-old man was driving a 2021 Toyota Tacoma south on Farm to Market Road 1593. For unknown reasons, his vehicle crossed over the centerline of the roadway and struck a 2006 Jeep Liberty head-on.
The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to roll over into a grassy ditch area. The driver of the Jeep, a 40-year-old male, was fatally injured in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota was airlifted to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston for medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
