Lubbock, TX – Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash at E Broadway & Idalou Rd

Lubbock, TX (May 9, 2022) – A motorcycle accident reported on Friday evening in the Lubbock area has claimed one man’s life. At around 8:43 p.m., on May 6, emergency crews were notified that an auto accident on East Broadway required assistance.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the Lubbock Police Department found that a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling east in the 2700 block of East Broadway. The vehicle stopped at the intersection with Idalou Road and then proceeded through the intersection. As the vehicle entered the roadway, it collided with a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 49-year-old man from Weatherford, was transported to University Medical Center for the treatment of serious injuries. He later passed away while still in the hospital.

The driver of the Chevrolet was treated for minor injuries.

The incident is under investigation by the Major Crash Unit of the Lubbock Police Department.
