Lubbock, TX (February 6, 2022) – Two people have lost their lives as a result of a pedestrian accident on Friday evening in Lubbock. At around 9 p.m., on February 4, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on US Highway 84.

Reports from authorities show that 24-year-old Nikkee Neel and a 6-year-old child were involved in a single-vehicle accident in the area near US Highway 84 and County Road 1500. Both individuals exited the vehicle when they were walking to get assistance.

As the two walked along the highway, they were struck by a passenger van.

Both Neel and the child were fatally injured in the accident and pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
