Martin County, TX (December 29, 2021) – One person has lost his life as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Saturday in Martin County. On December 25, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 20.
Reports from authorities show that 69-year-old Carlos Fuentes Padilla was driving east on Interstate 20 in a 2010 Ford F-150. For unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with a Peterbilt tractor-trailer near ramp 155.
Padilla sustained fatal injuries in the accident. Despite the best efforts of emergency crews, Padilla died at the scene.
The driver of the truck, 38-year-old Olanrewaju Oyewo, was not injured in the crash.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
