McAllen, TX (January 9, 2022) – One person has lost their life following a two-vehicle collision in the McAllen area on Thursday evening, January 6. At around 7 p.m., authorities were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash on East Nolana Avenue.
Reports from the police show that 29-year-old Claudia Ann Carrizales was traveling in the area when she crashed into a second vehicle. As Carrizales fled the scene, she crashed into another vehicle in the 1300 block of East Nolana Avenue, just west of Jackson Road.
The driver of the third vehicle, 46-year-old Cynthia Ann Lopez, sustained fatal injuries. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two other people inside Lopez’s vehicle were transported to area hospitals for further care.
Carrizales was transported to a local hospital and faces charges for her actions.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
