Mesquite, TX (March 2, 2022) – A woman and her young child have both lost their lives following a motor vehicle accident in the Mesquite area on Monday evening, February 28. At around 11 p.m., the Mesquite police were notified that an accident on Interstate 20 required assistance.

According to reports, 30-year-old Jennifer Young was driving a BMW sedan with her 3-year-old son when her vehicle was involved in a crash with a Nissan sedan on Interstate 20 near Farm Road 741. The vehicles became disabled along the roadway. The BMW was then struck by an 18-wheeler.

The woman and her son exited the vehicle and were both struck by another vehicle. The two victims were fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
