Nacogdoches, TX – Hector Martinez Loses Life in Car Crash on FM 1878

Nacogdoches, TX (January 27, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Nacogdoches County has claimed one man’s life. At around 7:20 a.m., on January 25, the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the scene of an accident on Farm to Market Road 1878.

Reports provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety show that a 2018 Ford SUV was traveling west on Farm to Market Road 1878 when it collided with a 2000 Nissan pickup truck.

The driver of the Nissan, 41-year-old Hector Martinez, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, 37-year-old Kelly Poole, was rushed to Nacogdoches Medical Center for care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
