New Waverly, TX (July 4, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles took place in Walker County that claimed one person’s life on Saturday evening, July 2. Around 8 p.m., the police, firefighters, and medical personnel responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 45.
Reports provided by local authorities indicate that a truck was pulling a trailer over a hill in the area of Interstate 45 on the southbound side near Farm to Market Road 1375. As the vehicle went over the hill, it struck a passenger vehicle that was occupied by four adults and two children.
The victims inside the car were trapped and had to be extricated by firefighters. One of the adult victims was pronounced deceased at the scene. Two other adults were transported to area hospitals for treatment. One adult in two children had to be airlifted to area hospitals for the treatment of serious injuries.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation.
